ANTHROPOLOGY

I began studying Anthropology my Sophomore year of college, studying general cultural anthropology and archaeology.  I then moved on to studying food, anthropology of education, and race, gender, and sexuality of modern China.  I found a particular interest in studying food practices, especially in the United States, and have included a short paper I wrote on the American concept of 'nutritionism'.

Anthropology of Food

In my Sophomore year at Hamilton College, I took a class on the Anthropology of Food.  The class was fascinating, and explored how our culture views and interacts with food.  I wrote several papers over the course of the class, including this one on the culture of Veganism.
