CLASSICAL STUDIES

I took my first Classical Studies course my Freshman Year by chance, and fell in love with the subject.  Since declaring my major, I have taken classes on Ancient Greek, Pompeii, Cleopatra, Roman Civilization, and Ancient Tragedy, among others.  My major has also led to amazing opportunities, including archaeological work at the Palace of Nestor in Pylos, Greece.

ANTHROPOLOGY

I began studying Anthropology in my Sophomore year at Hamilton College, and found the discipline fascinating.  I have since taken classes on the subjects of Food, Education, and Archaeology.

EDUCATION STUDIES

The Hamilton College Minor of Education Studies is particularly rigorous program, with a focus on systematic issues in education.  In particular, I have studied the difficulties facing first generation college students, teachers' positionalities and pedagogies, and the deaf culture and language of American Sign Language.

MY EDUCATION

At Hamilton College, I was able to study many disciplines due to an open curriculum.  After trying out many subjects, I settled on a Classical Studies Major, an Anthropology Minor, and an Education Studies Minor. Click 'Learn More' to learn more about my studies in each area, and see some samples of my work from each.
